The majority of people don’t need loads of buttons to control their device. That’s why we’ve only included the essential buttons you need to maximise the efficiency of your audio visual setup.
The JustBoom HATs and pHATs include an optional IR receiver that you can solder yourself to enable remote control functionality.

Nice, simple remote which feels good in the hand without being overly heavy or awkward to use.
The available controls, whilst minimal, certainly cover everything that most software packages may require. I’ve used this with both Kodi and Volumio, and it runs both fine. No problems at all with set-up, following the clear and detailed instructions available on this website. The only slightly fiddly part was fitting the IR receiver diode to the DAC board, but that’s no more tricky than doing similar on any other Pi HAT/pHAT board.
All in all a nice streamlined remote which does its job very well.
